Fit for Presidency?

                                    President Rutherford Hayes 1870 - 1880 Restored.jpg

It may be of interest to some, to note this 'interesting' fact concerning the hirsuteness of US Presidents.

From George Washington to James Buchanan they were all clean shaven.

From Abe Lincoln to William Taft they were as nature intended.

Then from Woodrow Wilson to O'Barmy they are all clean shaven again.

As neither La Clintone nor Le Chump are bearded, I can make no predictions about the upcoming Presidential race from studying their facial hair.

Above is Rutherford Hayes (Pres' 1877-1881 ) who was certainly not ashamed to demonstrate his masculinity.

  1. As a bearded person myself I am impressed with President Hayes bushy growth, I do believe he would have had my vote on this alone.

  2. There is a cliché that Mr. Hayes wouldn't be able to use...
    "Read my lips!"

  5. Went round Trump Tower in New York a few years go. Everything is either marble or gold-plated - the whole of floor 56 is his office apparently. Allin extremely bad taste - it said all there is to say about him.

    1. You only have to look at his weird orange skin to know that he has very bad taste. For someone with his cash you'd have thought he could afford a quick tanning holiday in Marbella.

  6. I firmly believe that presidential candidates should be tested by mental health professionals before being allowed to campaign... which would rule out most of the Republican party's front runners. None of whom have a beard... then again, this is also true of the Democrats (beard-wise).

Trump? He epitomizes the old saying: 'Money can't buy good taste.' Calling him a snake - oil salesman would be giving him a compliment.

    1. The voters themselves obviously can't be trusted to act as arbiters of mental health.

  8. Dr Ben Carson, former Republican Presidential candidate and brain surgeon, has a beard.

Both Trump and Clinton (as well as some prior Presidents) dye their hair. Our current Vice President Joe Biden once had hair transplants. President Obama's press secretary has adopted the designer stubble look.

Are appearances sometimes deceiving or not?

    Best wishes.

    1. Usually their 'alterations' are only too obvious... like Trump's orange tan.

  10. I had to google the word 'hirsuteness', and it said that it is an abnormal hairiness on women. Angela Merkel is famous for her toe hair. Anything known on that front about Maggie Thatcher?
