Just look at that face!

Kant rightly said that 'you can tell the heart of a man by his treatment of animals'.

Cro says 'you can tell the spirit of a man by his attitude towards swimming'.

I love to see children swimming; even at Bunny's age. Children have such a wonderful relationship with water; they throw themselves into it with such gusto, splashing around with unbridled joy. They dive-bomb, and try to drown each other; they forget all their worries (if indeed they have any), and they become totally liberated.

I am so pleased to see that Bunny loves water. I've recently encountered one or two children who wouldn't go near a pool, and it worries me; rather like when I see a child who's afraid of dogs. It just ain't right.

Anyway, here's Bunny and Kellogg enjoying their yesterday afternoon's swim.

Seriously good photo.  © Cro Magnon!!!

  4. A delightful photo - it is good that he is growing up liking the water. I can still remember panicking when swimming at the local pool as I was sinking - I can also remember mother thinking it a great joke. Have never liked water since.

  5. Lovely photo and good to see that Bunny looks so happy in the water. Won't be long before he's swimming - especially if Grandpa has anything to do with it.

  8. I hate seeing children that aren't afraid of dogs. The amount of parents that let their kids go up and embrace strange dogs is frightening.

  11. Bunny's smile is precious, but I see the love on his mother's face. No one will ever love him more.

  13. It makes me smile from ear to ear.

As for dogs, I always loved them and grew up with them, but getting bitten twice when I showed no fear (and one was a dog I knew and had petted previously with no problems) made me wary.

  14. Gorgeous photo and I agree totally our boy still has swimming lessons, loves kayaking at our local water park and bodyboarding and surfing in the sea. It's the way it should be, my Mother in law is 79 and has never learnt to swim which I think is very sad, especially as they often rent gites with pools that she never uses !

    1. She's had a long time to think about it; I wonder if she regrets it.

  15. I think she regrets that she has never had the opportunity to play in water with her children and grandchildren :(
